Jobs

Did you ever get to the point in your life where you're just sick of working? I don't mean, 'oh, I'm having a bad day', but just GAH! I have reached that point in my life, where I don't want to do this job. I want to be a graphic designer. But I need the income, so I shuffle through my days being miserable dealing with idiots who apparently can't think for themselves anymore.

Is this the way to live life? No, of course not. But we all do it to some extent. We hate our job or hate our boss or some other aspect of working (commute, shift, etc...), but we're stuck because we're getting a steady paycheck. What's the answer? Quit your job and hope that your writing career (or in my case the graphic design business) will take off? Wait for the redneck retirement fund (AKA the lottery) to kick in? In these economic times, what can you do? Toss a coin? Hope for the best?*sigh*

No. We're stuck. In a rut. We live our lives for the 'after 5:00 pm' or the weekends. Maybe I should just be grateful I have a job and quit whining...

Now, where's that darn lotto ticket....

I feel your pain...boy...do I feel your pain.

I worked in the corporate world for almost 15 years when I finally decided I had had it with all the dumb people.

So I went out and started my own business. And sadly, the first two failed, the third went beautifully but got bogged down with some legal issues that I didn't realize until I was in them.

Now, I'm on my fourth and fifth businesses, reflexology and writing, and I must say it's going very, very well. And the reason I think it they are going so wonderfully is because I love both of them. Each give me the freedom to do what I want when I want. I don't have to schedule appointments or write unless I want.

Right now, the writing is soon going to eclipse the reflexology and I will have to choose one or the other.

I can tell you it will be the writing.

Lynn
