Holiday Info

Today my holiday story, Holiday Spirits, is available from extasy books and I figured I’d share some information I found when I did my research for the tale.
Did you know…
~ customs and traditions of Christmas actually pre-date the birth of Jesus. (Some scholars believe his birth occurred in the spring – April time frame – and not in December.)
~ The date of December 25th probably originated with the ancient "birthday" of the son-god, Mithra, a pagan deity whose religious influence became widespread in the Roman Empire
~ Rome was well-known for absorbing the pagan religions and rituals
- thus Saturnalia, a celebration of the god, Saturn, was started. Festivities, characterized by gift-giving, feasting, singing, began the week prior to 12/25
- over the centuries variations occurred and eventually Emperor Constantine converted the pagan tradition into the Christian holiday of Christmas

About Holiday Spirits:
Too much of holiday spirits after running a marathon can be very interesting for recovery…
At the start of the Las Vegas marathon Jenna bumps into a man from her past and embarks on a life changing journey by just the touch of his hand. As recollections of a former life assail her, she makes a promise that Artim will be an early holiday gift to herself.
After ages of searching for the love he left one fateful day, Artim finally encounters her. When he realizes Jenna not only remembers who he is and what she was to him, but also the heartache he caused her, he believes it would be for the best if he disappeared again.
Can Jenna keep Artim, her holiday spirit and the present she promised herself around long enough to enjoy?

~ Warning: contains m/f, m/m & m/f/m scenes ~

Very nice.

And yes, I did know that Christmas is actually a pagan holiday. I wasn't Catholic but a friend of mine was. When we were in high school we decided to do some research and found that most of the Catholic holidays do have a tie to some sort of pagan ritual. The reason the church did that was to make it easier for the masses to remember the important days. That's the best way to assimilate a people is to use what they know best against them.

Still, this is all very interesting and fun.
