What was I thinking?

I seem to be asking myself this question quite frequently. Normally I ask this when I take on too many projects and responsibilities. But this time I'm asking what could I have possibly been thinking to take a day (one measly) day off work. Yes, I know I shouldn't whine about having a 3-day weekend. And I should be greatful to have a job to take time off from. And I am.

But I know I'm not alone in thinking it is hard enough to go back to work on Monday. To go back to the normal daily work routine after being off for three days is killer. That extra day throws off the entire schedule. Please assume you should know exactly what went down in the office when you weren't there. Like I know who parked in what parking spot yesterday, I didn't see them. What do you mean, "who signed that invoice from that vendor we used for that thing?" What invoice are you talking about?

And of course I get the question, so why'd you take an extra day off? What did you do in your personal time? It's called personal time because it's personal. No, I don't have to share my non-work hour activities with the office. If I wanted to tell you I would. Oh, please, stop pouting. It won't kill you to not know everything.

LOL oh, yeah, I take all the gripes and grumbles, put them into my stories and kill them off one by one. Mwahahahahahahaaa...

I actually went golfing with my hubby on Saturday. First time since August, when he bought me my own set of clubs. Apparently the goal is to shoot the LOWEST score, and for a typical course par would be around 72. I'm so dang good I shot a 72 in the first 9 holes. So that means I'm done with the game right? I got to the score first? Yeah, he didn't think it was funny either. Turns out that 72 was ADDED to the 50 on the back 9. In one afternoon I scored enough to have played two rounds of golf. See, this is why I stick to writing.

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter. Looking forward to a bright week ahead.

Ah, the power of narrative fiction. Best psychotherapy one could ever participate in. ;-D

LOL! Let them suffer.

As far as golf, I know the rules but when it comes to actually hitting the ball, I go wild. So wild in fact, I definitely know why they scream 'Four' or 'For' or whatever it is. LOL! Yeah, I'm that bad.

Glad you somewhat enjoyed your day off. Now that Kyle has turned 18, I've actually had a few date nights with my DH. Go figure.
