Available at www.devinedestinies.com
ISBN: 978-1-55487-527-6
Pages: 136
Release Date: 04/01/2010
Cover Artist: Angela Waters
Genre: Paranormal Romance, Ghostly Encounter, (non-erotic)
Blurb: Myrddin, Cassandra's frisky feline familiar, has his work cut out to get two lovers together. Evelyn is in love with Raritan Manor's resident ghost, Quinn, but can only experience his embrace in her dreams. Quinn, who doesn't realize he's a ghost, loves Eve and wishes she'd stop saying they can't be together. While at the manor, her friend, Julie, is prompted by Cassandra and Myrddin to invite their cousin, Alex, for a visit. When Alex arrives, Evelyn's hopes rise. Perhaps she will be able to have a real relationship after all. Alex, though, has no interest in Evelyn. Yet, every time Myrddin comes around, Alex feels like a man possessed and wants Eve with a passion, but the moment the cat leaves, he's back to his old self again.
Caught between loving a ghost and putting up with a man who can't make up his mind, Evelyn is at a loss of what to do and feels as if she's losing her mind. Can Myrddin get the right people together without causing too much heartache in the process?
~ Excerpt ~
She picked up a picture of Quinn and touched the front of it.
"I'm sure you noticed my guests in the house." She glanced around the attic. "Julie, my grandniece, brought her friend from Texas. Such a nice girl." Mae put the picture away, went to another chest and opened it. "Julie mentioned Evelyn has a dream man. I do hope she doesn't have her eyes closed too tight dreaming when a real man comes along. It'd be a shame to pass up love." She opened a cardboard box as she talked.
"Oh, here they are!" Mae picked up a bundle of linens. "Now we can have a nice sit down dinner. Of course if you want to join us you can, but don't make your presence known. You just about frightened Evelyn back to Texas."
"Auntie?" Julie's voice called from the stairs.
Mae whirled around as her niece entered the attic. "Hello, dear."
"Were you talking to your ghost again?"
She tittered. "I suppose so." Pointing to a second bundle of linens, she asked, "Could you help me bring these down?"
"Sure, in a moment. I need to talk to you first. Ask you a favor."
"What's on your mind?"
"I'd like to invite Cousin Alex up here for a few weeks if you don't mind."
Auntie Mae sighed. "You know he's a busy man. Plus, he doesn't like being here for very long. But it's not a problem with me having more company."
"Good. I'm gonna call him tonight then."
"Why the rush, dear?"
Julie smiled. "Cassandra said Myrddin said he's needed here. He's supposed to help Evelyn have a change of heart."
